Isn’t there anything nicer than starting your day with a big bowl of all healthy things that taste oh so delicious! Smoothie bowls are my typical and most favourite breakfast, I usually have a different bowl every single day. I love to be creative in the kitchen and always add new ingredients to change it up. Smoothies are an amazing breakfast because you can get most of the essential nutrients you need in just one meal! It also boosts your metabolism, your mood and gives you lots of energy for the day.
Most of my smoothie bowls are based on a combination of veggies, fruits, non-dairy milk and I always add some extras such as greens powder, protein powder, chia seeds, flaxseed powder and so on. Depending on how you like your smoothie you can either drink it or if you are like me and prefer to eat your food you can add some frozen elements (frozen spinach, frozen fruits etc.) to make it a thicker texture. This also allows you to add toppings which makes it so much better! I always add some type of fruit, seeds or nuts and spices, my favourites are cinnamon, nutmeg and mint.
Just a little side note for the ones that do not like Beetroot, it really does not taste much like beetroot at all. It just gives it an amazing colour and blends in perfectly with all the other ingredients!
- 1 small cucumber
- Half or 1 entire beetroot
- Greens of the beetroot (don’t throw them away, one of the most healthy greens out there)
- 1 chunk of ginger
- 1 date
- Half a banana (use frozen for thicker texture)
- Handful of spinach (use frozen for thicker texture)
- Half a cup of milk of your choice (I use coconut milk)
- A few mint leaves
- greens powder, protein powder, chia seeds, flaxseed powder etc.
Blend them all together and Voila you have an amazingly healthy breakfast in under 5 minutes.Let me know if you try this at home, would love to hear some feedback!
